Agree, its very convenient when the place of departure for your long-awaited vacation abroad is your own city. As they say, I packed my suitcase, took a taxi to the airport and thats it! You can say you are already with one foot in the warm sea.
Therefore, there was no limit to the joy of the Volgograd people when on March 25 the Federal Air Transport Agency announced that Volgograd is included in the list of 13 Russian cities, from where international flights will be allowed in 2021, including to Turkey.
At first, the residents of Volgograd refused to believe this information, because just recently Aeroflot announced that it would cease air travel to the Hero City. And here, here those times.

However, the joy was short-lived. Already on March 29, the Federal Air Transport Agency hastened to refute the above information and excluded Volgograd from the list of cities whose air ports are open for flights abroad, leaving for some reason Rostov-on-Don and Astrakhan.
Neither the representatives of the citys tourism industry, nor the Volgograd residents themselves could find a logical explanation for this.
Of course, a letter was sent to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to remove ban, but things are still there.
In a word, the miracle did not happen. Volgograd residents have long suspected that they have fallen out of favor with the federal authorities, but it is not known why? On paper, a hero city, but in fact?
Everything would be fine, you can, of course, fly from Rostov-on-Don, but you still need to get to it, and this is almost 700 km by bus or taxi. There is no train to Rostov from Volgograd.
Plus additional financial costs and an elementary inconvenience.
In the newly opened CYPRUS Volgograd residents also cannot fly by charters. They are not.
And then they ask why residents are leaving #Volgograd? A rhetorical question …
