A friend told about what a Russian cannot understand in Turks

Lonely Journey

A friend told me about what a Russian cannot understand in Turks

Our peoples have never been alike, although already live side by side for many years. There have been wars in our history and periods of relatively peaceful coexistence. Natives of the Central Asian and Transcaucasian republics of the former Soviet Union, who have flooded Turkey over the past few decades, have brought our countries a little closer.

Now in the resort part of the Antalya coast, Russian is spoken. And sometimes, while vacationing in Turkey, it even seems that you are not in Kemer or Side, but somewhere in Sochi. Very often from the lips of the local population one hears an adverb familiar to a Russian tourist.

The Russian language is perhaps the only thing that unites us. Otherwise, our peoples are the complete opposite.

Turks lead a measured life. Sometimes you wonder when they work at all? They can drink tea for hours and therefore be late for an appointment in their blood. For Russians, you know, being late is considered a sign of bad taste.

Family in Turkey always comes first. I wont say that the Russians have the opposite, but honestly, have you seen many Russian families sitting on the grass in the park and drinking tea over a samovar? But the Turks have it in the order of things.

The sea for the Turks is like the Volga for a Volgograd resident. Turks may not swim in the sea for years. What for? Its always there!

# Turkey is a country where things dont get done quickly. If you want to make an appointment — take care of it in advance.
